Section

A section is part of the hierarchy of a campus. The hierarchy can be viewed like this: Logical Hierarchy: Campus>Section>Zone. Each section must belong to only one campus. A campus can have multiple sections. Sections and zones are used to assign transporters, bed cleaners, and supervisors to specific areas in which they will perform their work. Some transporters and bed cleaners have fixed assignments. They will always be assigned to the same sections and/or zones and do not have to enter section or zone information when they sign in. They may be asked to work in other sections or zones during a shift, if needed. Some transporters will have fixed and exclusive section or zone assignments. These transporters will always be assigned to the same sections and/or zones and can never be asked during a shift to work in another section or zone, even if another section or zone is very busy and the transporters have no work to do in their assigned sections or zones. Some transporters and bed cleaners will have variable section and zone assignments. Each time they sign in for the day, they will select a specific section and zone (based on instructions from their supervisors). They might sign in to different sections or zones every day. To be allowed to change sections or zones during a single shift, they must sign out for the day, and then sign in for the day. Some will have an "All" section or zone assignment which means they do not have to select a section or zone when they sign in and can be assigned to work anywhere in the campus during a shift.
